Not an electron microscope other than it uses electrons from the battery to power the led lights. It says you can magnify 50-1000 times by adjusting the microscope length and the focus. But the length and focus are with the same knob. In reality it can only magnify to one magnification with clarity - about 60X. To function properly you will need to buy a stand.

This works amazing. After going through a few different digital scopes this one by far is the easiest to set up and easiest to use.

Took a little effort to hold and focus without a stand, but the image is very clear. Hookup to a Mac was really easy. Just follow the instructions (although ironically, us old guys need magnification to read them)

The device itself is small (pocket-sized), easy to set up, has a reasonable app (DM WiFi) and has simple controls (focus, focal length, on/off, brightness). The internal LED lighting is good, ample for any objects under the conical lens cover (on which the device can stand upright, with the object underneath, in this case a dead bee). The field of vision is tight enough that this is best in static mode -- it would take a steady hand or some sort of small tripod, esp. if you're having to twist the focus dial at the same time. Though this doesn't seem to be an "electron microscope" in the traditional sense -- it's more of a very powerful digital magnifier at 1000x -- it's useful for observation and takes sharp photos (640/480P, 12890/720P, 1920/1080P). It's at its best when paired with a smart phone (you'll have to set the wi-fi to this device and change that later when you want to transfer images to other networked devices). Recharging is simple enough with a USB/USB-C cable (supplied). Highly recommend.
