We are super happy with the microscope. Our son got it for his 6th birthday. Of course, he still needs help with the adjustment, but both young and old have great fun with the enlargements. You can see everything very big and precisely. I didn't expect it to be so great. Can only recommend it.

I don't think this is a good choice for most "kids", even in the hands of teenagers, they would have to take some level of responsibility to use them without breaking. I liked the features although the resolution could be better, probably why it's aimed at a younger crowd. It seemed fine when the zoom was at lower levels, but quickly became pixelated and grainy as the zoom increased. One disadvantage of a digital zoom over an optical one. The textbook is vague and lacks some important information. No description on how to charge and how to use the menu system. Nothing about the accessories either.

Our kids were so excited to try this portable microscope. Of course, the first thing they want to do is find bugs in the garden to examine. This is much easier for them to use compared to a traditional microscope.
A few things I don't like about this product are 1. the cheap flimsy feel of the plastic and 2. the menu buttons are hard to navigate so I have to help the kids turn it on and get into the correct viewing mode. If the menu buttons were a little easier to use, I wouldn't need to help them at all.

The right gift for the little nature lover. If a child shows inclinations in this direction, this combination device of micro and telescope is a good start. The accessories, which are sufficient for the beginning, allow the child to work creatively in nature and at home on the laptop.

This device is a solid amateur microscope. Professional devices are at least twice as expensive and only pay off if you work with them every day. The first use may show that the eyes are not at all suitable for a stereo microscope. Both eyes should have a similar visual acuity, a diopter adjustment is integrated in the eyepiece tube. The pupillary distance (distance between the eyes) must be greater than 55 mm. If they don't know any other way, many adults or even children don't even notice if they only have a two-dimensional view of the objects.

I was expecting this to be cheap Chinese plastic junk but it isn't. It's smaller than I expected, which is actually good for small hands. It appears to be metal and of surprisingly good quality compared to most things these days. Surprised and delighted. I won't be embarrassed to give this away.
