67mm CPL Filter Circular Polarizers Filter Super Slim with 36 Multi-Layer Coatings Camera Lens Filter (Nano-Xcel Pro Series)
SKU: KF01.1987
This filter is beautifully made, and I'm very pleased with the clarity, but I did notice a very slight color cast, which makes images shot with it slightly warmer than without. I don't think I would have noticed it if I hadn't done a very careful comparison for testing purposes, and it's nothing that can't be corrected when processing your images. Unlike color filters, the effect of a polarizer isn't easily achieved in editing due to the ability to enhance or suppress reflections, so this type of filter still has its place in digital photography, at least for now. TIP: If you need to use a filter on multiple lenses with different filter diameters, simply buy the filter with the maximum diameter you need and then use it with step-up rings on lenses with smaller diameters. This is much cheaper than buying a filter for each lens diameter.

I've been a fan of K&F Concept for a long time and own many filters. Especially in the beginning, the affordable products were a real blessing for my wallet. I simply couldn't afford expensive polarizing filters, ND filters, or adapters. However, K&F Concept impressively demonstrates with this filter series that they can also produce absolutely high-quality products. I can report that just unpacking the filters is a real joy. While this doesn't directly count towards the rating, it immediately conveys a completely different feeling than with the brand's other product series. The case also features a very attractive and tactilely designed case, which allows you to remove the filter via a flap. But now to the filter itself. I've used several polarizing filters before, but none of them have impressed me as much as the Nano-X PRO. The workmanship is simply top-notch, the weight feels solid in the hand, and the thread is a joy to use—when screwing it on and even when unscrewing it again. Most people will be familiar with this: cheap filters tend to stay put. The optical performance, which is ultimately what matters, is superb. Reflections are skillfully filtered, and beyond that, there's no distortion of the actual image. The resulting look is simply superb. When a little magic is added in post-processing, photos of cars look simply amazing, on a completely different level. I can therefore recommend it without hesitation.

The filter is packaged in a small designer object. The bag is well thought out from start to finish and just as well designed. However, a lint-free hard case would be much better. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible. A filter is always a compromise. I place a layer between the object (light) and the lens. This inevitably results in a loss of quality. In this case, the loss is very minimal, which speaks for the very high quality of the glass. The reflections on the surfaces are visibly reduced. The ambitious price matches the filter's performance. However, I don't use the filter bag, instead I use a hard plastic box—as I always have.

The CPL filter from K&F comes in such attractive packaging that you immediately realize you're holding a truly high-quality product. Inside the box, you'll find a classy case with a magnetic closure that protects the filter very well. This CPL filter is "slim," meaning thin, which has the minor drawback that it's a little harder to grip when rotating. Which brings us to my only minor criticism. Otherwise, you're getting a very high-quality CPL filter that brilliantly fulfills its purpose: reducing or preventing reflections, which makes photos appear richer in contrast and more color-interesting right from the start. There are limits to post-processing in this regard, and quite apart from that, it often saves me the need for post-processing because the photos simply come out of the camera more harmonious and without appearing artificial. The quality is impeccable, the filter itself is very high quality. The image quality is flawless, with no color fringing or distortion. 5 stars for that. In my opinion, a highly recommended filter!

Is all polarizing filter the same? No, that's not the case. Polarizing filters do polarize to a greater or lesser extent. This reflects the price you're paying for them. But there are other things as well: A really good filter doesn't have a light metal mount, as this could twist under pressure when screwing in, causing the filter to seize up. This polarizing filter has a heavy and precisely crafted brass mount, and the rotating ring for adjusting the polarizing filter to the correct position rotates smoothly and effortlessly. Additional ridges on the mount prevent fingers from slipping when turning. This is desperately needed, as the filter is designed as a "slim version" with a very short aperture to also be suitable for wide-angle lenses. The filter's coating looks impressive, and I'm inclined to believe it's particularly effective at preventing reflections (although this could only be truly proven in a comparison test). The polarizing effect is very good, and no color deviation is discernible in Lightroom. I've never owned a photographic filter that was so elaborately packaged—indeed, almost "staged"—as this professional filter from the Chinese manufacturer Shenzen Zhuo Er. The manufacturer wants to underscore its claim to be at the forefront of its market segment. I readily believe that it can do this. The filter's manufacturing quality easily rivals any Heliopan or Rodenstock filter. Of course, it also costs accordingly. I'd happily purchase a few more filters of this type—I've acquired a taste for them. Do you automatically take better pictures by using such an expensive filter? Absolutely not. If you've been satisfied with your image results so far, this filter won't open up a "completely new world" for you. But if you're eager for every technical possibility of improving quality, then, yes, then you should really consider switching to these fantastic filters.

You can tell immediately upon unpacking that this filter is very high-quality, as it comes in high-quality hard cardboard packaging. It also comes with a very stylish and practical case. The filter itself also appears to be of extremely high quality, scratch-resistant, and works wonderfully! It screws onto the lens very easily and also rotates, although this is a bit stiff. This prevents it from slipping! The price is quite high, but if you're willing to pay that much, you'll get an absolutely top-notch product!

What you have to give the filter credit for right from the start are its optical properties! Regardless of whether you're photographing/filming cars in the automotive sector and have to contend with reflections in the windshield, or landscapes are more your thing: The K&F filter fulfills exactly what I expect from a CPL, and without any unwanted side effects. Sure, the price is pretty high for a "normal" screw-in filter, but it also scores points with build quality that's appropriate for the price segment. When turning, the filter rotates smoothly and, in my opinion, with a pleasant resistance. (I really don't understand the criticism of many others here, or would you rather have a filter that constantly gets accidentally adjusted because it's so smooth?!) If you don't have a case for your filters, it's also a nice bonus that the K&F comes with one, which is also really classy. Magnetic snap closure, strap to let the filter slide out of the case without getting fingerprints on it - really nicely done!

Transparency note: The product was provided to me free of charge as a review sample, free from any influence or expectations. My review is based solely on my personal assessment and experience with the product. Review: For those quick readers, I'll give you my review first. Below I'll explain the details of my decision-making process and my impressions of the product. I'll deduct only a minimal point and award 5 stars, rounded up to 5 stars. My only criticism is that the filter is a bit stiff to turn, i.e., its operation when screwed onto the lens. I hope this improves over time. No, it's not stiff to turn, but it is a bit stiff; I expected a somewhat smoother movement. Build quality: The slim frame is of very good quality, precisely crafted and painted. I appreciate slim filters; they sit lower on the lens and therefore don't limit its viewing angle, especially with the wide-angle lens. Slim filters can have the disadvantage of being difficult to handle because the grip ring is very thin. It's helpful to have a non-slip grip, and that's exactly what the K&F filter is. I can grip the filter very well and see without any problems even with wet fingers. The glass in the filter is very high quality: optical glass, very precisely crafted and completely flat, and also multi-coated. First, hold the filter in your hand and look through it, preferably against strong contrasts and straight lines, such as a facade. Here you can see that you see no interference. I detect no distortion whatsoever; the image is completely flat across the entire surface of the filter, and I also see no color distortions; I'm very satisfied. It's no different when I screw the filter onto my lens, but here comes another aspect: possible reflections, which are precisely what a polarizing filter is supposed to eliminate. In terms of the image effect, this is absolutely undeniable, be it on water surfaces or on windows; reflections are suppressed very well, as expected. But there's another aspect, and that's the reflections on and behind the filter towards the lens when backlight from small point light sources hits it at an acute angle. I didn't observe any reflections here, which speaks for the filter's very good coating and glass quality. I was very pleasantly surprised by the filter's packaging, starting with the attractive outer packaging in a high-quality slipcase. Inside is a folding case with a magnetic closure; it's very stylish and practical, significantly higher quality and more elegant than the widely used plastic boxes. Conclusion: At just under €150, the K&F polarizing filter isn't exactly a bargain, but it is reasonably priced in the truest sense of the word and clearly positioned in the premium segment. The build quality itself is just as impeccable as the optical imaging performance of the lens. The included case is very attractive. Only the somewhat stiff adjustment of the alignment slightly detracts from the overall impression, so I deduct half a star for that. In the overall impression, this plays only a minor role and leads me to an almost unconditional recommendation to buy. Thank you for your attention in reading my review. If you'd like, please feel free to give me feedback; I'd be delighted to hear it.

I've used K&F ND filters in the past, so I wasn't surprised by the quality compared to newbies. The filters allow for sharp focusing without any limitations. The extremely thin glass and the thin frame ensure no clouding or dark spots at the edges. The frame has small brackets that prevent your fingers from getting in the frame when you need to make adjustments. Overall, it's absolutely top-notch!
