This is a third K&F filter that I own now, and it continues to impress me with the quality and value. This was an unknown brand for me and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone now that I have used three different filters from them myself (UV, CPL, and this variable ND filters).
I am used to caring a set of ND filters with me in a case and I did want something more compact for different conditions. My approach is always to be minimalistic and to carry less. We travel a lot (a lit less now "thanks" to covid) and carrying less gear with me for convenience (and back saving) reasons is always nice. This filter performed superb on my recent trip to Turks and Caicos. We were in many super sunny situations and traveled a lot around the island. I am not a professional photographer but I would classify myself as an "advanced amature" and to my eye this filter is perfect. No color distortion that I can notice, no artifacts that I can see, great range, and convenience of multiple ND filters in one mounted on the camera! It rotates smoothly, stays in place, light, and seems to be very well built. Had it in some sandy conditions on the beach and it held up very well. Definitely recommend checking it out.

I have several different sized lens and several different brands of filters. Most are in this price with a couple less expensive and a couple of high priced premium brand name filters.
The majority of my filters in this price range perform like a lower priced filter. Some don’t quite fit on the lenses the way they should, some feel tight when I turn them, and most just don’t perform as a neutral density filter should.
This particular filter surprised me by surpassing my expectations. It feels solidly built. It looks good. The glass looks fine, and you can see it darken as you turn the lends. It’s waterproof, which is a nice touch!
I usually try to give a list of pros and cons in each of my reviews, but this lens filter seriously gives me nothing at all to give as a “con”. I will be buying additional filters from K & F. I see no reason to even try any others at this point.
I hope you have found my review to be helpful!

This one helps to keep colors true.
Have you ever tried to photograph purple sport’s uniforms? Without this filter, they often come of digitally as navy-blue uniforms. This filter is a problem solver.
Ever photograph polar bears in the snow? This filter helps keep all the shades of white clear and precise.
I label each box with what to expect from the filter.
It makes it easy to grab and go with the correct filter.
However, when I have time, I enjoy changing out the filters and shooting the same scenes with different filters. It often yields unexpected and lovely results.
Essential filter. Well worth the time and expense.

The first thing I noticed about the K&F concept 82 millimeter variable ND filter, is that it was packaged super nice, and when I picked it up out of the box it felt like a quality product. It had a super nice metal finish and the two pieces glided across each other very smoothly. This was my first time using an adjustable ND filter on my camera, but I was always looking for the extra versatility and adjustable ND filter could offer versus a fixed ND filter stuck at one particular stop.
This variable ND filter definitely did not disappoint, I love how easy it is to slap onto my lens and it's so great being able to switch and adjust the power of the ND filter with a simple twist of the lenscap. In addition to its obvious uses an ND filter, I love the fact that I feel like my lenses are more protected when this is on them as well because the glass is not exposed to the elements. Overall, I am definitely convinced about using ND filters and adjustable ones more specifically, so I would definitely recommend this to anyone who's on the fence about getting an adjustable one. This one definitely does the job.

One of the better variable ND filters I've used. The build is extremely good for the price. I really like that it is a slim build and doesn't make your setup overly clunky.

The filter works best if you have a lens that is greater than 35mm. When the lens is too wide angle is when you get the X looking area

I have other K&F's and they all perform as advertised. This one is no different. Well made, good images, works as expected.
"Real" photographers, such as Rick Sammon can't say enough bad things about variable ND's. I have used them for years and never once was disappointed by them. The bad mouth guys are always complaining about the "X" issue. Yes, if you turn too far, you'll get an ugly X across your photo. Here's the secret which as served me well for a long, long time. You ready? "Don't turn it too far". I don't know why that is such a tough concept to master. Of course, the lazy manufacturers could help the situation by putting stops on the filters, but they seem to prefer the complaints to a simple, positive move. For my part, I help myself by gobbing on some white nail polish on the three points in question, so I can easily pick out the "too far" points. I can turn it down to focus/compose, then turn it up to where I want it and shoot. That beats the heck out of trying to shoot the image blindly, or repeatedly screwing and unscrewing the filter to get the shot arranged.
Really, a reasonable price, a little common sense, and you'll be good to go with this filter.
I hope you found this information useful and/or helpful.
