I am sensitive to metals and I can quickly check beaded jewelry to make sure it won't cause a problem for me. It's also nice for finding pins and other small objects dropped in the carpet since I am legally blind.

Found a ring lost for 3 years within the first 15 minutes. Paid for itself already. Very happy with purchase. An instruction manual would have been nice tho...

I used this and found the tack nail I had lost in the grass so now I can walk around the yard barefoot once again.
I know it doesn't reach below the dirt very far like the expensive ones but it is still useful.
