Bought this as a add on to my detector. Had it out of the box and out in the yard in 5 mins after receiving. Found two pennies within minutes buried 4 inches underground. This will make my treasure hunting so much easier being able to pinpoint with such great accuracy. Very accurate and can’t beat the cost!

Received my pinpointer metal detector in a few days,I really needed to use it because something very important went missing, I am hoping to find the missing item with the Pinpointer metal detector. Seems to work well, I pointed it towards various metal items and for all those it made one particular sound and light display, but for the gold ring it was totally different sound and light display. Great product, I highly recommend it.

I am very pleased with the Ricomax Pinpointer. It is a very durable unit and is everything the seller says it is. I used it the very first day I received it , along with my full-sized detector and found this child's easy-bake oven (type) cookie cutter in 4 inches of soil in my back yard. What a time saver; from having to sift through a pile of dirt and sod. (For you metal detecting buffs) this item is more than likely 40 to 50 years old.

My husband and step daughter love using our metal detector to find “hidden treasures”, however, have nearly driven themselves crazy trying pinpoint what is setting off the detector. This has already become an essential tool in their “treasure hunts”. It is compact and easy to use. It even comes with a holster so it can be readily available for use. I highly recommend purchasing this in conjunction with a traditional metal detector, or even by alone.

This metal detector was easy to use. I traveled with it in my cary on luggage. I was able to snorkle and use it at the same time. It is very light weight. Can't wait for another vacation to use it again.

I was very impressed with the quality of this pinpointer! Shipping was fast and the packaging was very good. This detector will give you many years of service, and you can't beat the price. It comes with easy to read instructions and the one button operation makes it easy to operate. As a disclaimer, the manufacture offers a free gift to purchasers that write a review, but in my case I would have given it five stars anyway, for in all honesty it is the best pinpointer for the money. It also comes in very handy for locating studs in walls to hang pictures, so it has more uses than just detecting. Sincerely, Ossie Weinert

The first thing you notice is how comfortable I’m this unit is. Second is how light it actually is. It is extremely easy to control with one hand. The carrying case and shovel is and nice bonus as well. The head phone jack is a normal 3.5. Fore me in Pittsburg the colors are perfect! Black a yellow!

The Pinpointer is easy to operate and has adequate sensitivity without false triggers. After receiving it, I installed the battery and did o few quick tests on coins. I knew that I had a something to test it on. Last Fall I dropped a driver bit from the ladder while working on the roof eaves.
I couldn't find it and assumed that it fell into the hydrangea plant. I tried using a search coil, but the coil would not get into the plant past the stems.
I took the Pinpointer outside to the hydrangea, and after a few pokes into the plant (2nd photo), located the driver bit (1st photo) which had speared itself into the base . The whole process took less than 10 minutes from the time I went out the door!

This feedback will be given on initial discovery and has not been used in the field. The pinpointer gives a single green light upon FINDING the item, and increases to 3 lights when it is upon the item, so I hope that helps you understand my wording.
It found the penny 1" away, a nickel 3/4" away, a dime 1" away, and a quarter 1" away. But these were on a flat surface as the pinpointer approached from the side. If I hold these coins upwards so the pinpointer approaches the largest surface area, these numbers change:
Penny= 2"
Nickel=2"
Dime=1&3/4"
Quarter=2"
I, myself, am new to the hobby and will update with a proper review in a bit. Thanks for looking!

UPDATE: I informed customer service of the problems I was experiencing and they have been nothing but helpful. Always love to see a company that owns up to it's mistakes and doesn't try to just sweep them (and you) under the rug!!
The Good:
-The build quality of this pinpointer is exceptional
-Easy to use, single button operation
-Seems fairly water resistant (good seal on battery compartment
-Comes with belt holster so you feel like Indiana Jones whenever you whip it out
The Bad:
-Very sensitive to the signals put out by my main metal detector. If my main detector is within 5 feet of the pinpointer, the pinpointer will go crazy and register false positives non-stop. It is annoying to have to stop and place my main detector far away from the digging spot or turn it off every time I wish to use the pinpointer. Not sure if this is just something you have to do with all pinpointers no matter what but it's definitely an annoyance with this one.
-Wish it were a little more accurate in terms of the actual pinpointing. It definitely picks up the objects well/is sensitive enough for small things, but often times it's hard to tell if the object is below or beside the device.
