We have had a blast with this metal detector. My daughter loves looking at our local beach for "treasure". She did find several coins, a couple bottle caps and someones keys. It gave us some fun downtime while we were drying off after a long day of swimming. Definitely worth it just for the smiles. Seems to be very accurate as there was always something there every time it showed there to be.

This metal detector is marketed for kids but I can say it is better than expected. The unit, although being very lightweight and looking kid like, does a real quality job. First off this is very easy to assemble right out of the box. The directions are clear and easy to follow for assembly and for use of the detector.

It works great by detecting the different metal groups with high accuracy and even shows the depth. I like that you can set it to alert on certain types of metals for any of the 3 types. This eliminates false readings or readings for items you're not looking for. Would buy again!

This metal detector is impressive. I'd expected something that might look or work like a toy.

Instead, when this arrived, I was VERY pleasantly surprised. It's a nearly full-sized metal detector, but also lightweight and adjustable. It's a good size for a tall 6-year-old, but equally good for an older child or even a teen. (Frankly, fully extended, my 5'8" husband is comfortable using it. He eagerly tested it as soon as it arrived.)

The metal detector has some nice, colorful accents, but it doesn't shout "toy" when you look at it. Nobody will raise an eyebrow if you're an adult and using this at the beach or along a hiking trail. It's an actual, working device, and it looks professional.

It also comes with a great instruction booklet, explaining what the different noises tell you about the kind of metal the device detected, and/or how deeply it's buried.

And speaking of noises, the sounds aren't blaring or obnoxious. They're just right for the purpose.

All in all, this is a great metal detector for a beginner of almost any age. Most importantly, if you're an adult considering this for your own use: The styling is "modern" as opposed to looking like a mere toy.

The digital readout screen is very helpful, too, and easy for beginners to understand.

This metal detector actually works, even detecting metal inside the (thick) plaster walls of our home, and under the floor. It'll work in your garden or at the beach or along trails. The detector's sensitivity seems just right.

The accessories are great, too. The backpack is a comfortable size and holds the detector without having to fully disassemble it. (We left ours partially assembled, and the round wheel sticks out of the backpack. For us, that's fine.)

The digging tools are strong, full-sized, and seem durable. (Until I saw these, it never crossed my mind that normal, metal garden tools weren't a good idea with a metal detector! lol )

Whether for an adult beginner or for a child eager to be a "treasure hunter," this is a good start for explorations at home and on outdoor adventures. (We'll be at the beach this weekend, with ours.)

This has alerted to metal easily. I love the screen and color. It’s great for my kids!

I ordered this kids metal detector with the hopes of using it to find hidden treasure, and so far, I have yet to find any treasure. But that's not the fault of this little metal detector; I don't have any buried treasure on my half-acre. I have found lots and lots of rusty hardware, badly damaged tools, and a few dog tags (like for dogs, not soldiers), and it alerted me to a few things that were deeper than I wanted to dig. Perhaps there is treasure, but my grandson and I don't want to dig too deep. We placed my gold ring in the grass, and it detected it (thankfully). The detector was easy to assemble, the instructions were clear, and in no time at all, we started searching for that treasure. It is light enough not to get tired of holding it and easy to maneuver. The screen brightness is adjustable and readable even in daylight. The shaft length has 6-inches of adjustment to accommodate people of varying heights. Supposedly you can put the coil in shallow water. However, I did not have any puddles to test that claim. We'll assume that it can go in shallow water, and if and when I test that and if it breaks, I will update this review.

In conclusion, I am impressed by this little metal detector. I was skeptical about how it would work, and even though we found no treasure, we had a blast using it. And, after all, that is what's most important. On second thought, perhaps the treasure is the detector itself...I bet my grandson thinks so!

This is not too heavy, so easy to use. We hid some things around the yard for practice, and found all the things we hid, plus a lot more!

I have been metal detecting for at least 15 years and have thousands invested in my detectors. This is a great beginning detector for a small child to see if he/she will like the hobby. I buried a penny, dime, nickel and quarter in different areas about 4" deep and this detector found them all. It comes with 2 AA batteries and set-up is a breeze. Give this to a kid, take him/her to a school playground where there are swing sets and if your lucky and the swings are on sand, this little thing will find coins and the kid will be so excited you won't believe how happy he/she will be.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with a kids metal detector. Time will tell how much metal my kids will find with this, but I tried it out and was pleasantly surprised to find that it does indeed find metal objects in the ground. First off, this is very easy to assemble and the directions are clear and easy to follow. You can have this up and running in just a few minutes. It comes with two AA batteries, which is great, and they install very easily on the underside of the detector. The only flaw I found was the screen had several scratches on it. It doesn’t affect the performance, but I don’t like scratches on a brand new product. To try this out, I buried several coins - a quarter just under the dirt, a penny 2 inches under, and a nickel four inches under the dirt. I turned the metal detector on, and sure enough, it lit up and beeped at me when I passed over these coins. The screen consists of three cloud shapes that will light up when it passes over a metal object, giving a picture of several possibilities of what may be underground. The detector also beeps when it finds something. Finally, there is a depth bar that tells you how deep the object is. I found everything to work just fine, the depth bar didn’t really change much, but otherwise the pictures where usually correct. It’s a cute little metal detector! I was hoping for a fun, kid friendly metal detector, and this one doesn’t disappoint. It was exactly what I hoped it would be and I really like it.

Thr toy metal detector set is a special and unique toy. It is easy to use & lightweight. The accuracy hovering above metal objects on the surface was the test & within 5 inches of it, picked up on those items. The detector assembles easy & unassembles to convienently store & carry in the case. The added tools are nice to uncover finds from the beach or whatever ground you are searching. Just as described in the listing. Giftable & well made technology tool toy.

I got this for my grandchildren, and it seems like it is going to work well but I and they are trying to get used to the way it detects items and to recognize if there is something there or not. Instructions are a little vague and there are no pointers or suggestions about how to use. Sometimes when an item comes from another country the instructions are not written very well and this is a prime example of that. If you already own one of these you would probably be more in tune with how it works, but as a beginner it takes a little getting used to.
