High Precision Metal Detector, Beach Waterproof Gold Detector, With Precise Positioning and Sensitive Detection Plate
SKU: GW50.0078
Being new to metal detection, I was looking for a quality product, but didn't want to pay a fortune. Since I didn't know what I was doing, I wanted a detector that was easy to learn and use. But I didn't want a child's toy, or a difficult one with bells and whistles that would confuse me or were unnecessary. The videos I found online were informative and showed me what was important, how to use it, and how to avoid trash. After my purchase of my Bounty Hunter I've used it several times. It took just a short time to quickly learn how to set the sensitivity for maximum performance. It is a wonderful beginning detector. I can see myself using it many years.

I've used this detector to locate many lost carbon or aluminum arrows quickly. It is reasonably priced and easy to use.

I had to spent hours reading through the metal detector's repetitive user manual and type out on my laptop so I can use this thing!I was able to reduce the font enough to just print and tape to the detector case we can use it properly!Metal Detector Labels & Quick Use Guide:Metal Detector: waterproof 8” coil & Automatic Tuning & Ground Balancing.Buried metal detection in virtually all extreme soil conditions, regardless of mineral content (black sand, under water, etc.).-Turn ON by rotating the Sensitivity knob. Clockwise to highest sensitivity setting for maximum depth & performance. If the unit “chatters”, reduce sensitivity slightly, just until gone.To reject most Foil & Iron objects, turn up the “Disc/Notch”(Discrimination) knob.Sweep coil: from side-to-side, parallel to the ground & 1/2” above it. Raising coil=false readings. Move slowly & gently, moving too fast=missed objects.Move forward to a new area, while slightly overlapping the previously swept area.Desirable metal objects will respond with a repeatable tone. Broken/non-repeatable tones are generally false detections (electrical interference/large irregular trash objects).Pinpoint the exact location of the target: By sweeping in a narrowing side to side & front to back pattern. If signal is too: Strong-lift coil, Weak-lower coil & use short quick sweeps.-Set the 3 MODES TOGGLE switch accordingly:1. “ALL METAL” = No Discrimination: Sensitivity knob might need reducing, in this setting.Detects all different types of metal such as: Aluminum, Brass, Copper, Gold, Iron, Silver & Steel.Maximum detection & depth (especially w/sensitivity set full clockwise & Discriminate control full counterclockwise/Off).Applications: Relics(historical objects), Gold Prospecting/nuggets(abandoned mines/river beds!), Cache(valuables in a case, can, strong box, or bag. May be behind an old floor/wall).Beaches & General applications such as property marker locating, lost: key, machine part, etc.2. “TONE” = Tone Discriminate: A dual low/high tone “beep” & automatic Iron & Steel rejection. Identify metals according to tones.Discriminate knob adj.: higher to increase range of the low tone. Low tone for: Gold & Nickel, Gold rings & can-Pull-Tabs(or ideal in-between “broken” tone-if set at approx. center “12:00” position).High tone for: Brass, Copper, Silver & Larger coins. Chains & necklaces are difficult to detect.Applications: Coinshooting, Jewelry Hunting(where people congregate!) & detecting in highly trashed areas.3. “DISC” = Full Discrimination: Only detects Brass, Copper & Silver, not Gold. Rejects detecting most trash/no-value items.Discriminate knob adj. higher to increase the rejection.Applications: Coinshooting-set Discriminate knob at 3/4 “3:00” position. Different denominations of coins will induce different sounds.-IF Detector gives:False signals: Adjust sensitivity to a low level in the event of false signals.
Chatters/beeps erratically: Reduce the Sensitivity setting.Inconsistent signals: Can occur on highly rusted metals. If the signal does not repeat on successive passes, the target is usually not valuable.Emitting erratic signals in a field: Swing coil slowly & reduce sensitivity, just until false signals disappear.Beeps erratically: Electromagnetic field interference from a near by electrical appliance or natural source-turn sensitivity down/move away from source. Not stable & has a pulsing, distorted tone, instead of a clear tone: Move away from another metal detector/power lines interferences.Emitting a constant loud/repeating tone: 9v Batteries are low, use only Alkaline.Use optional Headphones for: improved battery life, to hear subtle tone changes clearly, needed in noisy environments.

This detector was easy to use and picks up metal signals right away. Red toggle switch allows you to skip over the nails. Had a good time searching for "treasure."
