12W Portable Solar Chargers 5V USB Small Power Emergency PET Panels Foldable IP67 Waterproof Camping Hiking Backpacking for Phones Fans Flashlight Watches Small Power Banks Battery Packs
SKU: GW31.0039
I've been collecting rechargeable flashlights and 12 volt batteries for emergency lighting, and this portable solar charger, looked like a great accessory to keep with my emergency kit.
After seeing how compact this solar charger is in a folded up position, I am considering placing in in my backpack instead. It would still be available to use during an electrical outage, but also available to take backpacking.
The temperature has been in the lower teens (F) so I haven't been able to use this outside yet.

This panel is so cool! I have had several small panels that were basically novelty items, but this one actually charges stuff, lol. I even put it in my window and have been able to charge small household devices, in Oregon, in December! It isn't very fast and the hours of exposure are limited, but it works.
The panel is super light and it's feasible that you might actually carry this in or on a backpack. It's easy and quick to fold and stow.
The panel comes in a cardboard box with no manual or anything, just the general directions on the back of the box. It only comes with carabiners. I have no idea what kind of cable or situation I'm supposed to set up to charge anything that isn't USB. There's just a barrel-type DC outlet with no info. All my large-capacity emergency power banks are charged by AC wall plugs so I can't use this panel with those (yet). I have to figure that out, and I'm kind of annoyed that they haven't provided better guidance about it. The images on the listing say to use a "3 in one cable" which is nearly meaningless. They could have printed more info and saved me (and other noobs) a lot of time. But the USB ports are dead simple so they almost make up for it.
Anyway I'm really stoked and can't wait to take this panel camping. I will update with whatever I figure out about the cables and DC power.

If you are looking for a solar charger for outdoor and emergency use like me. Look no further. This is it! The product is super easy to use. All your need is the sun to charge your electronics. It is a great gear to have if camping outdoor to charge your phone, watch or camera. We had a blizzard in Austin in February and had blackout for several days. Had we have this solar charger, we would have kept cellphone working to keep communication channel open. A great product to have!
