Was a great product at a reasonble price. This being said, I returned it. Being 92 years old, I could not handle it effectively.

I've had time to use it and I think its capabilities are far more extensive than any other detector I researched at the time. The build quality could be a double-edged sword. It is VERY light and that makes it easy to carry. On the other hand: It is VERY light and that might not lend itself to MANY years of service. It seems well constructed and I will update my review after I've had more time to evaluate its resistance to adverse environmental conditions. It looks like it'll be quite reliable as long as I don't submerge it up to/near its control panel. The electronics located in the panel are water resistant but NOT WATERPROOF. The coil at the bottom and the stem/cable seem to be very well sealed, so as long as the operator is careful (and it isn't dropped) it's likely to be perfectly fine. Very highly recommended,

Received it for Christmas and found three dollars and change on my first trip out. I can't wait to get back out.

I ordered this specific metal detector because it was supposed to include batteries and headphones. I contacted kentfaith after the first package arrived without the headphones or batteries. They implied I either didn't see them or they must have fallen out of the box. So they said they would send a 2nd kit and I will need to return the 1st whe it arrived. The 2nd one arrived today and there are no batteries or headphones and neither are mentioned anywhere in packing materials. The metal detector itself is ok. Was looking for something the kids can use to treasure hunt on the beach this summer.Update. Amazon and the seller were both very helpful in fixing issue. Bought headphones and batteries and my kids are very happy with the metal detector.

The box was dented and looked reused ...the batteries were already in the unit with 3/4 battery power and some visible scratches on the detector....but it works fine
