I normally stay far away from weird filters that produce strange effects, mists or grades. But I'd not seen one of these before and thought I'd give it a go. I'm glad I did.

I thought it would be some kind of gimmicky plastic filter but on unpacking, was surprised to find it made of glass and metal. This is a hefty filter! Once screwed in place, it rotates easily for the kaleidoscope effect you want.

This is a niche filter that isn't for everyday use, but I have to say it's got my imagination going. I do a lot of light streak/long shutter night light photography, and gave it a try on a locked off camera and lens to capture cars passing at night. The resulting photos are insane. Very abstract and visually appealing (no, I'm not going to show you so you'll nick the idea!), I'll get a lot more use out of this than I thought. I'm sure other pro photographers will laugh at the sight of such a filter, but don't knock it until you try it! I'm very happy with the shots it's given me.

It provides a really unique effect for your photos. Definitely not an every-day lens, as it does a distortion of a Kaleidoscope, reminds of of when I was a kid.

The kit also includes a few lens cleaning cloths as well, nice little perk.

It's really well constructed, and was a perfect fit (I got the 58mm thread)

If you are unsure of the thread size you need, you can look at your lens, or even web search your specific lens to get the info to make sure you get the correct size.

Would I recommend it? If you are looking to add a new artistic look to change up your photography game, this is one great way to do it!

my mom has one of those lense balls that uses when she goes to the beach and i thought hey what would be even cooler is a kaleidoscope lenses so i got her a few different ones but this one is for sure the nicest of the bunch this thing is amazing and takes some great photo's
