I have a very compact photo studio, and this 55cm octagonal softbox from brand K&F CONCEPT is the perfect sized lighting softbox to help me create soft portrait lighting in a limited space environment. There is also a 65cm and 90cm version as of this review, so plenty of options depending on your creative requirements.

The brand K&F CONCEPT continues to surprise me time and time again, with everything from ND filters to video rig and other photo gear being of a super high quality, and this softbox is no exception. As noted, it is an octagonal design, and in my opinion this creates a more balanced soft light than the average rectangular concept.

It also comes with a velcro-on honeycomb, which allows me to speckle the light for certain kinds of projects, which is a nice bonus, not all hexagonal or octagonal softboxes necessarily come with one, but I do consider it an absolute necessity.

Beyond this, there is an easy quick release for the bowens-style mount that is part of this particular product package, allowing you to use a speedlight flash instead. It is a very robust design with an aluminum construction for the frame, and the fabric of the softbox is evidently a very high quality nylon, so it feels very durable and I do not expect tearing like I would with a lower quality product. It also comes with a carrying case that appears to be using a similar nylon fabric design, so traveling with this unit is a breeze.

Overall, there is a lot to like here, and room for expansion with larger sizes offered, and an adaptable mount at the back. A complete package and a 5 star product for me.

A 26" is great for headshots or portraits thats travel sized. Fits inside of your luggage easily. Shoulder strap for pouch is handy. Youll need a speedlight adapter to use with a Light stand.

I found it great from the first use, you can immediately understand that it is an excellent product in terms of quality, I really liked the quick release, which makes assembly and disassembly very fast. Just extend the rods until you hear the ""click"" and to disassemble it has the clamp release.

The diffusion of the light is uniform and soft, the Honeycomb grid included is really nice even if I use it little.
But it is nice to have it to have an extra possibility

The assembly is the classic Bowens so it is compatible with many lights.
I use the diameter of 55 cm a lot for indoor shooting, indoors, it is a size that I find very manageable.

The design is portable and is very very comfortable, because it is small enough to be easily transported in the included bag

For as few times as I really need to add in artificial lighting, the 80cm square softbox has been doing the job with a 60W COB LED continuous light (sometimes I use it for photography too with the speedlite adapter. More recently though my situations are shooting video in confined spaces, covering people going about their business and creative pursuits; me not being in the way and able to work to their pace is priority #1.

This octagon with two diffuser layers was love at first sight out of the box. I used it within days of arrival for a one on one session of a merchant in their tiny shop and got what we wanted with the least amount of fanfare. I could have pictured my 80cm box hitting a few things in the process and taking over the guest's attention.

The built in pull and click system to set the ribs is genius. They don't take much strength to lift up and out until they click into place. Lately I am very aware of this with some loss of grip strength and soreness in my right arm.

The shape when collapsed and twisted into a tight bunch, then into the fabric bag with draw string also suits my carry all bag way to haul gear; better than a semi rigid four sided collapsible soft box that doesn't fit in anything I have.

The two inner diffuser panels mount with hook and loop. The outer diffuser has a continuous band of that tape, as does the inner rim of the umbrella. The smaller inside diffuser attaches with short bands of hook and loop. Of the two diffusers, when used singly, the outer one reduces light output more than the inner one. I didn't test to compare the light dispersion or fall off pattern compared to a metal reflector bowl or my bigger popup softbox.

As the demo video shows, the Bowens mount ring can be removed after taking out one thumbscrew. I can't immediately think of when I would need to do that but it's there as an option.

Yes there are better octaboxes out there but for the price of this product you're going to get a good quality product. It is not as durable as some of the brand names but if you take care of it there is a high chance this will last for a while. The best feature is the easy way it folds out which makes it easy to assemble.

I am super happy with the softbox and the quality. The quick-release clamps are super efficient when dismantling but setting it up is also quick.

I received the product today, assembly is quite quick and intuitive, it seems to be made of good quality material, however only time will tell. Good light diffusion and good color rendering!!

This is a great umbrella and a very good value for the money. It is very easy to set up and use, is obviously extremely portable and the fact that it comes with a carry bag is a huge plus.

I'm very happy with the way this modifier is made and the mechanism it uses to set-up and take down. It's great a honeycomb is included as well. The carrying bag is perfectly sized (unlike the ones from some competitors). Excellent.
