I got this Shotgun microphone to make my sound better when recording on the go.It came in a nice black box well packed with:-The microphone-A battery-The wind protection-Instruction manualFirst it fits perfectly on a hotshoe mount and is very stable on it. The built quality is very good for this price. the only thing a noticed is the battery slot that is a little bit hard to close (its hard to align it with the cover) but maybe its just mine and you dont have to touch it after the battery (included) is in it.On it you got a switch with 3 modes. You got the off switch, the normal mode (0dB) and a sound boosted mode (10dB). The ``Boosted`` mode is usefull when your a bit far from the microphone. It helps make the sound more loud without having to edit it wich is great for everyday use. You got to know that when you turn it on, the light flash for a fraction of second and turn off. Its you signal that its powered on, its great to save battery life but at first i wasn't sure if it was recording or not. After couple of use i trust it!Battery life seems to be very long. I recorded maybe an complete hour and no sign of battery signal (Light flash on it ).Sound is very good for that price. Its far better from the sound directly on my camera. It also remove a lot of background noise and i like it a lot.Pros:-Very good sound-Noise reduction-``Boosted`` Mode-PriceCons:- You dont have indication that its recording you just have a quick light flash when powered on. (But it never failed to record)I dont think you can get better for that price!

Love that fits my camera and definitely improves the sound quality.I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a mic. It's definitely smaller than the picture. It does pick up a tad bit of noise in the wind and I recommend a wind sock for this mic. I guess the only question I have remaining about this product is the warranty information which wasn't stated in the box or on the product page.

The packaging and the build of the microphone felt good. I was looking forward to using it but it disappointed a little. Performance wise it's okay but it offers no improvement on the built-in microphone on my Canon EOS 700D. Maybe that says more about the quality of the cameras built-in mic.It may well be beneficial if you have a lens that makes a noise when the focus changes where the internal mic would pick it up but I have a very quite lens so that isn't an issue. Anyway I returned it.

Great mic, batteries run down quickly but are really cheap to replace. Good sound and works well. I wish the light was larger and stayed on while life. Other than that its great.

not used it yet , but should be ok. better than paying £259 for a canon microphone thanks.

Great product with clear sound quality, I would recommend picking up a "dead cat" to break the wind noise if its a frequent issue with your filming. Other than that I can't fault it.

Along with furry mike cover (bought separately) and connector adapter (bough separately) this is just the job for my movie making with my Fuji bridge camera.

This is not a pro-level Microphone. It is, on the other hand, providing a solid $60 dollars worth of quality sound! The +10 db will provide you with 100ft of reach, more than enough for the weekend prosumers! Therefore, I happily recommend this product.
