Quick Review – Amazing build quality, excellent sound capturing, well designed, excellent record quality, highly recommended.General Verdict = great product, universal fitting, very light, excellent quality sound, huge value, much recommended product.Long ReviewGeneral – I have tried and used a couple of different mics for my camera and none have been anywhere as high a quality as this one, The design itself is simple yet effective, with high quality metal construction, this heart shaped unidirectional design works very well at picking up sound. The mic is powered by a CR2032 button cell battery (included) and lasts very well approx. 50-60 hours.There is a 3 way switch on top of the mic that switches it from off position to 0db (standard) to +10db (boosted) for better sound pickup over ranges, It fits quite well on the camera locking into place on the standard hot shoe point and requires a standard 3.5mm audio jack point on the camera to work correctly.Materials – The metals used in construction feel very sturdy and like it can take a knock or two without issues, the mount itself is plastic with built in cushioning to help reduce the impact from knocks and bangs, the included wind proof cotton sleeve for the mic is well constructed, no pits, tears or holes and fits the mic precisely providing a good natural noise reduction.Improvement Possibilities – This section should in no way be thought of as negative, this is just ideas I had for possible future thoughts for developing the product further.1. Gem in the rough. Ok so I'm not a professional and as such, my review is based on casual usage only. BUT...when I ordered this I thought "well it's cheap enough if it doesn't work..then I'll know".But it is used with my go-pro set up for marketing and light use for my own business. Sound quality is IMHO quite good, I make sure that If I am talking, I stand on the side of the mic (behind) or of course in front, I can be up to 12' away and it picks up my voice with little to no ambient background noise.On windy days, I purchased the "dead cat" mic cover here on Amazon as well, wasn't cheap at $55 CDN (actually quite spendy for a fur cover) but it really cuts out the wind noise so I suppose it was worth the price.I also like the fact it has a vibration dampener as well, too many videos I hear the bounce of the mic, or rubbing of the cable on something, ruins an otherwise decent video. I also like the fact the cable is spiral wound as well. The power on/off is a bit odd as you turn the battery housing cover to turn on/off, and there is no indicator light to tell you it's ether or. According to the mfg, the only time you will see a light "on" constantly is if the battery is low...hmmm.Overall, good to better build quality (for the price point) and some nice features to get one started.

This is a fantastic mic, mounts very easily and has a crisp clear sound quality that makes it sound way more expensive. Comes in some very classy packaging and while the instructions suffer a bit from bad translation, this is a fantastic product that I heartily recommend.I received this product for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review (I.E. I would have said it was awesome if i'd paid full whack for it)

The main thing about this product is that is it cheap. It is a good mic but picks up a lot of background noise like crackling and white noise. The noise is low vol compared to the normal pick up of what you are trying to record but its still annoying. Would recomend if you are on a budget

Very good microphone for his price. It is not a professional microphone but the quality is quite good for some commentary video on youtube.It comes out of the box with a battery included ;). It doesn't have a microUSB port so the only way to use it is via the AUX cable. Is designed to be used with cameras (es. my Nikon) but it also works with phones, tablet and so on that have a mic input.For its price is a must have.

This is an easy microphone to use. I was able to show this to some of my friends and could explain how to use it very quickly. So it certainly is user-friendly and most of its functionality is intuitive. What I like most about it is probably the quality recordings I have been able to get out of it without a single hitch. Noise-reduction is something that they are able to do quite well. The recordings I’ve done with this have come out nicely, especially in comparison to my old equipment. Additionally it is priced affordably. I would recommend this for anyone with a little bit of experience or someone just looking to get their feet wet.

You instantly know you are in hand of a top quality product the moment you hold the box in your hand. The item is simple and very little parts to it.It comes with the microphone, wind muffler, and a battery. I'm so used to receiving products and having to purchase my own batteries this instantly was a winner for me. It fits into any dslr with the hot shoe on top and see no issue with it's fit. I have a gopro that i tend to use for all video needs but occasionally end up using the dslr for short clips if it is already in hand and that moment comes. The microphone appears to me to have a decent range. I can't say for sure if the 20 metres it claims is accurate but what i did notice is how much clearer the noise/voices were compared to without. Not had a lot of trial with it other than to test it works and a little play around but it does make a difference.One thing i will note is that in the heading it does come across as though it would be useable with the gopro hero 4...not sure how this would work with the standard jack plug when there isn't one of these on the gopro, however would maybe be a little large for that anyway so not looked into it.As an addition to my camera accessory pack it is a welcome and pleasantly surprising little item. This is a high quality professional video microphone that sits on the top of the camera via a hot shoe. It is a great microphone for any film maker on a budget and it sounds far better that an built in camera mic.The box is very nice and from the box alone, i could tell this is a premium product. In the box you find the microphone itself and a wind filter. This microphone requires a cell battery and the great thing is that in this case, it is included. This is nice to see, as it means you can get up and running as soon as it is out of the box. To use the microphone you simply insert the battery, mount the microphone to the camera, plug the aux cable into the microphone port on your camera, turn it on and hit record - Just don't forget to turn the microphone on or you will have no audio!The microphone is very well built and fits nicely on top of the camera, it mounts to the hot shoe mount and secures with some locking nuts to keep the microphone still and secure., it is a nice size so it is sturdy. The cable is coiled cable so it is stretchy so there is no excess getting tangled, but at the same time, it will reach all camera ports so it's ideal.The sound quality of this mic is very nice, it is crisp and clear, and doesn't have any background noise.Overall, this is a great microphone for any filmmaker on a budget as it sounds better than any built in camera microphone and will improve any videos by far without breaking the bank! Amazing! very happy :)

This took my sound recording to a whole new level in my shows. Very helpful seller, who answered all of my questions & made suggestions on settings based on my needs. I received the product quickly from them, and it was packaged well, coming in a sturdy box. The actual unit is not plastic, so it's more durable than many accessories you purchase for your Digital SLR. The mic was easy to use. It reduced background noise, which is something I was needing, and the battery life isn't bad - I'm glad it doesn't waste power with a light that stays on - it lights up when you connect it to start recording, and then turns off, saving battery life - handy!I'm pretty satisfied with my results, and would recommend the product to others.
