Mister G. check out this fake reviewer before paying any attention to his bulshit. This is not the review of a videographer or an audio specialist. There really isnt much reliable info on this mike. I tried It out and it was ok, but slightly quiet. No hiss during the recordings to a GH4. The sound files need a boost in Audition or Audacity, however, this could be the bargain of the century, The Chinese manufacturer seems like they are gearing up for major growth, and lets face it the comparable Rhode stuff is very overpriced for what it offers. For twenty pounds or so you cant go wrong. No silly rubber bands or inacessible battery compartments to deal with.A neat aluminium tube containing the mike and a led to show you have power. Well packaged and good audio specs, what are you waiting for ?

This is a review of the K&F condenser video microphone. I received a free sample for review.I've got several similar type microphones for my camcorder, but this one is clearly superior in sound quality and build quality compared to the others. The others are all plastic body microphones. This K&F microphone has a metal alloy tube that gives a good feel to this. The microphone is set on rubber mounts for isolation, from the base. This has a very effective Cardioid pattern and it greatly reduces sound from behind and to a lesser degree the sides of the microphone. You can clearly hear this in my video review and demonstration. The on/off switch also has a 0db as well as a +10db (with 200Hz low frequency attenuation) setting to increase the sensitivity for longer range recording. The microphone includes a foam windscreen. Operates on a single CR2032 battery (included.)I think this is an excellent microphone for the money.

Disclaimer: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest & unbiased reviewIf you are shooting video, an external microphone is a must for anyone who wants decent sound – it improves the sound quality. It is bound to - the internal microphone, considering its tiny size, cannot hope to compete with one this big. The difference in sound quality is significant. This microphone comes in a good presentation box (see photo 1). This is important if it is a gift - it makes a difference. Some items come in brown cardboard boxes.Inside everything is stored in cutaway foam (photo 2).Photo 3 shows what you get in the box – the microphone, a cotton foam muffler and a CR2032 battery. The bank note is to give you an idea of the size. The muffler reduces wind noise. It is essential.Photos 4-5 shows it mounted on the hotshoe, with the cable plugged into the camera.Photo 6 shows the rear of the microphone. The end cap unscrews to insert the battery, which is included. To insert the battery, tilt it so that the 12 o’clock position is inserted and then push on the 6 o’clock position. It snaps in place.Tip: The instructions are wrong regarding how to remove the battery (a translation error, I assume) . They say that the ‘metal card’ has to be pushed ‘outwards’ (photo 8). In fact, you push the metal clip (in the 6 o’clock position) DOWN – the clip is on a spring and will move down, releasing the bottom of the battery (photo 9). The battery then levers out. I tell you as you will be cursing if you do not know how to do it and try to follow the instructions. The microphone has three settings – off, 0dB & +10 dB. The latter increases sensitivity (and noise too, naturally, so there is a price to pay) – but it is good to have.If you are not used to this microphone, please always check it is on before filming – if you are used to using the built-in microphone, it is SO easy to film your child’s birthday party or whatever with this new toy and then curse because you forgot to turn it on. Every time I press record, I first check that the microphone is turned on.Confusingly, the red LED on the top by the three-position switch (see photo 10 – the LED (transparent in the photo) is just beyond the +10dB setting) does not stay on when the microphone is on. It only turns on to indicate a low battery. In normal use, when you turn the microphone on that LED blinks for a fraction of a second, and dimly – I thought that it meant my factory-supplied battery was dead on arrival. I tested it – it wasn’t – the LED is designed that way.I carry a spare CR2032 battery, just in case. The manual includes two graphs showing the output response of the microphone (photos 11 & 12). I cannot verify them – all I can say is that the microphone improves the sound quality and I am very happy with it.

This microphone is a great addition to any camera as it increases the audio quality drastically.Included is:MicrophoneWind CoverCR2032 BatteryManualThe microphone attaches to your camera using the hotshoe on the top of mostly all modern cameras. This is a secure and practical way to mount it.The microphone itself is made of metal. This gives it a great feel and a much more durable look. The included wind cover for the microphone is quite useful. It will reduce the amount of wind reaching the microphone, it isn't the best but it is better than nothing. The microphone has a 3.5mm jack on the end. Most cameras have a port directly for this which is ideal for the applicationThe audio quality from this microphone is brilliant. It is far superior to the on camera microphone as it can pick up sound from much further away and with less noise. The top of the microphone has the sliding switch which changes the audio mode from:Off - No Audio Is Transferred To The Camera0db - Audio Is Transferred With No Gain10db - Audio Is Transferred With 10db Of GainThe microphone is also mounted on rubber which reduces the vibration and noises from on the camera which other microphones may pick up.Overall due to the great, metal, build quality of this microphone along with the professional audio capture and quality, this makes it a great purchase for anyone!

This K&F Concept Camera Microphone comes presentably boxed and in the package apart from the microphone you get a foam windshield, CR2032 button cell and a decent set of illustrated instructions. We used this microphone with a Nikon D7200 DSLR on a recent trip to photograph some Kingfishers. The microphone has a claimed frequency response of 50Hz to 16KHz and an impedance of 200 Ohms. The immediate impression is of good quality product which is largely of metal construction. This mono microphone is powered by a CR2032 which should last 50-60 hours before an LED indicator flashes to warn of a low battery condition. The battery is easily fitted by opening a screwed door at the rear of the microphone. There's a short 3.5mm audio lead which plugs into the camera and the microphone is easily fitted to the camera via the integral hot shoe mount. The only control is an on/off switch which can also enhance the sensitivity by 10db. I personally prefer to use the microphone with the foam windshield on.In the field we found this microphone performed well. There was very little mechanical noise from the camera and although wind noise was kept to a minimum plenty of both foreground and background detail was captured including birdsong. The sensitivity enhancement switch produced a noticeable effect albeit at the obvious expense of slightly more noise. Because of its light weight this is an easy microphone to manage too. Overall we are delighted with the audio quality captured by this microphone and would unhesitatingly recommended it as good value solution for a DSLR or camcorder user. Recommended.(Disclosure: I was provided with a free sample for review - the opinion above is my honest view of the product).
A good value and high performing camera microphone

I was very surprised with the quality and build of the K & F Professional Microphone especially at this price.Inside the box:*Microphone*CR2032 Batteries*User Guide*Wind-proof Cotton CoverThe K & F Microphone is an exceptional piece of kit and a solid bargain for the price. Build quality is excellent with a solid metal body and is on par with the more expensive £70-£100 range of Microphones. It's very simple to use, simply a matter of installing the batteries and slot it into place. The recording of sound was impressive, I used it mainly for speech audio and a few family videos shot outside, and it didn't let me down and to be honest it would be hard to differentiate between this and the slightly more expensive options. It's best to use the Mono setting for recordings that are concentrated on audio/speech and Stereo for when your in a more 'noisier' environment such as in a Club or Wedding. All in all, those looking for an inexpensive microphone but one that gives exceptionally good quality audio recording need look no further.Highly recommend

Note: The maker supplied a review sample for evaluation, the opinion of the product is my own personal viewIn the box with the microphone is a user guide, CR2032 lithium cells and a foam covering to help reduce wind noise. Simply unscrew the back and pop the battery in, top controls are very simple off, 0dB and a gain of +10dB. Being a " mini shotgun" microphone it uses the common Cardioid or heart shape pattern this is directional microphone that is most of the sound area captured is in the forward position facing the microphone but it also extends around the sides a bit giving some minor ambient pick up. This differs quite a lot from many camera on-board/built microphones which tend to pick up a lot of ambient noise and can be rather vague; in contrast this will give more focus and is useful as a general purpose microphone where you want to concentrate the sound from one area more and it's particularly well suited to interviews. Mono tends to be preferable for speech it provides more sound focus on the speaker and voice; stereo would be the choice for music/concerts both have their own place.Build is a cut above many affordable mics out there most of the body is metal and it feels rather solid in the hand, a rubber damper is present which reduces vibrations or noise pick up from the camera. On the bottom is a plastic mount which fits a normal camera hot shoe if you have a non standard one then you can pick up a cold/hot shoe adapter and it will work just fine as long as you have of course a 3.5mm microphone input. Cable is coiled and extends roughly to 30cm max. if you want to use the microphone off camera you can pick up a 3.5mm extender lead and mount it on a flash gun stand.Performance of the microphone is good for this price point you can't really find many flaws (a touch of low frequency rumble in tricky conditions) but you might want to tweak the camera settings in addition to the +10dB gain (if you can) some models have a wind cut option and adjustable gain you should use this in addition to the foam cover to reduce wind noise or to extend reach. Depth of sound is far better than many cameras which have front facing small microphones they pick up lots of wind noise and a large spread of sound this gives not only much more fidelity but it's small enough to carry around easily in the bag. The choice of a smaller lithium cell might be less appealing but at least they are cheap and easy to find (bit early to comment on battery life) a red LED will glow if power is low on this mic you briefly see it when powering it on. I'd like a small carry bag to be included bar that this is a good little microphone that's likely to appeal to those looking to do some more serious video work without a heavy outlay.

I bought this for my 70D, prior to this I had other brand, big difference. Great purchase. I'm happy with the results! No longer is there background hissing action when i edit my videos later on. I just wish the wind mus wasn't so sheddy, thing sheds worse than an actual dead cat.
