Bought this to photograph the eclipse. Worked well for that. 4/5 due to the lack of stops, and lack of marks/etching to indicate approx ND level. Like I said, worked well, but if you want any idea of what your actual exposure values are you'll need to mark it ahead of time at a minimum.

Great filter! Love how you can adjust how dark you want it. Wish the protected case that came with it was more snug on the filter.

used this filter on a a 35mm lens on an om-1 35mm camera. I got a big black cross over my images. i presume this is specific to the set up i have. so i wouldn't discourage people buying this for digital work .the variable ND does not have any labels to let you know what filter strength you are using

I've been shooting with my nikon d7200 for about 1 year and have never used an ND filter due to the price of other filters. I really wish I had this little filter on my last few vacations. This filter allows you to shoot wide open in the brightest light, yet still getting all that sweet detail. Normally I'd have to manipulate the highlights in such a shot, but now I can just throw this little gem on and manually adjust how much light i want! This is a game changer while on a bright sunny day!!Comes with a case wipe cloth.I've attached a before and after with the filter in direct sun. Very cool!
Wish I had this 1 year ago

Filter fit but was not a completely polarized filter--still got aberrant uv radiation in my pictures, but company stood behind their product and gave me a full refund.

Bought this filter to use during the solar eclipse and it exceeded my expectations! Originally, I planned on being in the path of totality, and chose this filter because the adjustable range would allow me to keep shooting through all phases of the eclipse without changing or removing components. Due to uncooperative weather in the Midwest, I had to scramble to an alternate location with only a partial eclipse and high thin clouds. This adjustable filter allowed me to go dark enough to catch amazing photos of the moon traversing across the sun from beginning to end, and I could lighten the filter when thicker clouds passed and during the peak eclipse. In all, I got 170 awesome photos over 40 minutes just a simple turn of the filter mounted on my lens.Still trying to figure out the engineering that makes this work, but that just makes it more fun!

went cheap with this one instead of the normal brands at a higher cost. The quality here is not the same and it struggles in bright sunlight (i.e. when you would use a ND filter for video). Will hold on to it for in a pinch use but will be buying a higher quality one soon.

I don't understand the voodoo magic that is adjustable ND filters, but this works great! It's like adjustable tint sunglasses for my camera, which really helps when I want to shoot wide open but it's super bright out! If you do a lot of outdoor photography/cinematography this is a great addition to your gear.

These are great unless you are zooming in a good amount. When you zoom in there is a noticeable loss of sharpness. On a M43 camera, when i zoom past 30mm it starts to get a little soft. At 140mm, the footage was almost unusable.
