I fancied trying some long exposure shots with my smartphone. I already had bought fixed filters but there was no adjustment to them without shooting through several layers of glass. Thought I'd try this one as it was adjustable. It's like having two polarising filters mounted together and is infinitely variable from light to very dark just by twisting the frame.
It does take a bit of fiddling and post editing to get some natural colour back, but it did what I wanted it to and am waiting for some better weather to spend a bit more time tatting with it. Its is big enough to cover all the lenses on the back of the phone with room to spare for hand movement though you do need to hold it very close.
Obviously a tripod is needed and a steady hand is helpful.

I really wish they added hard stops to these things. I don't understand how this isn't a feature on all filters and not just those that cost $200+

Lots of vignetting even at lowest setting. As you get halfway through the darkening you start getting blotches. At full darkening there is a dark visible X in the picture. I am very curious how this filter go so many positive reviews. I find it unusable. I am returning it and will look for something more expensive that works or simply go for fixed ND filters

Great ND filter BUT will not work with lens cap. Once I put it on my Sigma 24-70, the lens cap that came with it would not work. The filter itself is larger and will have to grab one of those rubber caps. Sort of annoying but great results!

I have a Canon M50 with the Sigma 16mm 1.4f lens. I film at full 1.4 for that creamy Boca and this ND Filter is great for keeping the exposure balance without loosing quality. I live the fact that it is variable also. So far very happy with it.

The build quality is great. However, the vignetting issue ruins everyone. I would recommend spending more money and getting something that you can actually use instead of getting something cheap that is useless to some extent
