This didn't fit my lens so I had to send it back and lost £3.50 in postage costs. MORAL: Make sure you check the size of your lens before ordering even if you have filtered for 55mm (as I did and the search still found this!!) Other than that the kit seemed ok.

It really helps block out the flares from the sun when taking pictures in the bright daylight w/ the sun at an angle to the position of your shot. I have also found that it serves as a great protection for your lens when traveling or moving around w/ your DSLR. It fit the 18-55mm lens that came w/ my Nikon D3300 perfectly. Since I take many wide angle shots, I use the petal lens hood much more than the cone shaped one.Note that it is NOT reversible. It's a great small investment to protect your expensive DSLR lens.

Great seller contact.The rubber lens hood needs to be used correctly to get the best results. Fully extended for when you zoom in.When you zoom out you have to pop it back to the middle position and when you zoom out fully (18mm) you need to pop it back to fully compressed then it is a great hood.
