82mm Fader ND2-ND32 (1-5 Stop) Variable ND Lens Filter Neutral Density Filter for Camera Lens NO X Spot Nanotec Ultra-Slim Weather-Sealed
SKU: KF01.1064
I have never tried a ND variable filter before, but I'm glad I gave this a shot. I'll be mainly using it for outdoor video. I didn't have to bump up my shutter speed when putting this thing on. Photo example is 1 frame from a video I shot in my backyard with and without the filter at it's maximum with same camera settings. 1080p @60FPS @125 shutter speed.

If you don't have a K&F Concept 82mm Fader ND Filter Neutral Density Variable Filter ND2 to ND32 for Camera Lens NO X Spot, what are you waiting for?

It's a really well built nd filter. I bought it for video and it seems to be working perfect. There is a slight green tone to it but other than that I highly recommend this product

Disappointing in that even at its max setting I can’t take exposures of more than a second or two.

Filter is not wide enough to accommodate even a standard zoom. I have it mounted on a Sony 18-105 f/4 G lens paired with my Sony a6300. In photo mode, all four corners have a very HEAVY vignette. The vignette is visible from 18mm all the way until about 50mm. 18mm isn't even considered wide - angle on an APS-C Camera. The build quality and image quality itself are very good, however, the vignetting renders the filter unusable. Avoid this product if you plan on using it with a lens wider than 50mm.Update: K&F Concepts offered to send a fixed ND 1000 filter plus Step down filters so I am able to use an ND to take photos. I appreciate the help that they offered me so I updated the rating of this product. This 72mm Variable ND filter is very sharp and has no color fringing. If the vignetting issued gets resolved then it would be a near perfect product - especially for the price. Good customer service but subpar product.

Holy smokes! This thing is a fraction of the price and way better than the SLR 82mm and the Singh-Ray 82mm variable Nd filter I purchased. Seriously did not think a $60 filter would beat out a $400 Singh-Ray. I’m using this on a Sony A7riii with a 24-70 2.8 G Master and there’s no color distortion. There is a very very very slight vignette in the first 2-3 mm of each corner but that’s far less than the Singh-Ray and SLR. Plus there’s no X.

Despite what's advertised, I did notice the X shape at the darkest setting, ND32. But up till ND16 the X shape isn't there and it's perfectly usable. I would even say that even at ND32 it's usable for some settings where the X wouldn't affect the image much as it's not TOO bad. The photo I've attached was actually at ND32, but the X shape isn't really noticeable.

The ND filter has physical stops it from spinning completely around, this avoids the X mark whi, h is nice. The throw is smooth and produces nice photos while keeping the f stop low.The one downside which isn't all that bad is that you can't use it with a lens hood, so your lens is protected but not the filter. Highly recommend and worth the price.
