Once I tightened some screws on the face plate it worked like a charm,,,a nice fit. Quite odd that it came the 3 loose screws though..

Fit and finish is excellent. Works perfectly with Sony A7 and Canon FD and Sigma FD lenses. Problem with a Tamron FD lens though - didn't fit.One star off for no documentation on the "Lock - Open" ring. After some experimentation I figured it out. Turn so that "Open" is at the top, install the FD lens, and you can stop down the aperture manually in real - time. Turn to "Lock" and you will force open the aperture wide open.I'm not a good enough photographer to know why you'd want to "Lock" it, the viewfinder on the A7 meters quite well when you manually stop down.

This is my own opinion it may differ from person to person, so keep that in mind:I received this mount in it's packaging from Amazon (duh) the packaging is nothing special but serves it's purpose. I took it out and fitted it onto my Canon FD 35-105 f/3.5 macro lens, and the fitment was snug and without any up/down and side/side shake, both the FD mount is solid and the E-mount is solid, so no problem there. the construction is very solid and it doesn't feel cheap at all, overall a very nice and solid adaptor. now here is a small annoying thing about it. Sometimes when im taking pictures the Lock/Open ring will move over with time and it will do so i cant change my f/stop so keep that in mind. But it's a minor problem that can be fixed or might not be a problem for other people.Overall a great and solid adaptor.

Bought this to connect my Sony a7ii to a Canon fd 135mm f2.5 lens. It has a good fit to both camera and lens, quality item well made. Just found out it won't let my lens focus at infinity, there's another adapter for the a7ii a7rii a7s and a7sii...

I bought the Canon FD to Sony NEX adaptor and am very pleased with it, I've had cheap adaptors before and they always feel a little loose, this one is definitely a nice tight fit and feels solid.

This is a review of the adapter that attaches a Canon-FD mount lens to Sony NEX (E-mount) body.A Canon 50mm F1.8 lens attaches cleanly and firmly to the adapter, and the adapter attaches cleanly and firmly to the camera. When the release button is pressed on the lens, the lens and adapter separate easily, as expected. If the adapter has a drawback it is that it is easy to rotate the "lock-open" ring by accident. This doesn't release the lens but in the "open" position the aperture doesn't close down when the aperture dial is rotated. The worst case situation is that the "lock-open" ring is partially rotated and then the aperture will close partially but not fully. On the other hand this same "lock-open" ring is useful because when used properly it provides, in essence, a binary control for the aperture: In the open position the aperture is wide open giving minimum depth of field and the image is bright and this is ideal for using the Sony NEX focus highlight feature. Then, once the focus position is set, and the aperture will close to whatever position has been set on the lens's aperture ring.I have two adapters to attach Canon FD lenses to Sony NEX bodies. One adapter is branded "K&F" and the other is branded "Beschoi". Apart from the brand texts, the adapters appear to be identical and perform equally.A 35-105mm Vivitar lens does not mount properly onto the adapter, or at least not in a way that gives me confidence it will stay attached. However after much faffing and investigation I found that I had exactly the same struggles attaching the lens to a Canon body, and therefore the adapter cannot be blamed. It is possible that the Vivitar lens is defective in some way but I do not have the experience that would let me be sure. The Vivitar lens has its own mounting lock ring and therefore the mounting operation is a little different to the Canon lens. I mention this only in case somebody else is struggling similarly and wondering which bit, if any, is at fault.

Excellent for mating my grand-dad's Canon 50mm fixed focus to my Sony NEX.

I now own four of these adapters; Leica M and M42, Canon FD and Olympus OM, all to the Sony NEX mount. The build quality of all four is superb and much better that you would expect for the price. The Canon FD version in particular has a ring to lock and unlock the aperture - this is butter smooth and really well damped. Make sure it is set to LOCK when mounting so that the aperture ring works.Mounting surfaces are nice smooth chromed brass or aluminium. We'll see about long-term durability but I expect these to last the distance - top quality.Lastly, though one reviewer appears to have had problems, I can say that contrary to the manufacturer's details all four of these adapters work perfectly on my Sony A7R mk2 - locking securely and with no play.

Well finished but on the one I received infinity focus was out with my canon FD lenses. My measurements with an electronic vernier caliper suggest the adapter is 0.25mm too short so infinity is focussed at less than infinity. Anyone else seen this?

good with no play yet not so tight that you feel like it might be too hard to remove. probably the best of the budget adapters.
