The depth of the cradle is very shallow, so phones with thick covers will not hold securely. The grip is weak and the metallic easy to scratch.

When I ordered this I thought it would fit the quick release on my current tripod which is also Arca Swiss compatible. But it doesn’t. The grooves don’t line up. I was hoping that I could just leave it attached to my second DSLR so I wouldn’t have to install a plate each time I change cameras.However, that doesn’t mean I can’t use it. It has a screw mount to use with other accessories and I found that I can screw it onto the other quick release plate to use with my tripod. This means I can easily use it with my phone or DJI Osmo Action camera. While that wasn’t what I wanted, it is something I needed and won’t take much space or add weight to my camera bag. So it is useful.The one drawback is that it doesn’t have a tight enough grip on my phone to hold it in place when the phone is in its protective case. I did have to take the phone out of the case to use it with this plate. Not a big deal, but a minor inconvenience.Overall it is very well-constructed, lightweight and the design is ingenious. It is versatile and comes in a really nice case though I’ll probably never use that. It’s too big. The price is also reasonable.

This plate works great as an Arca-swiss style plate. Precisely made, looks great. But the way they engineered the flip-up feature so you can mount any phone even in a case with a spring-loaded clamp is just great. And then a small part of the plate hinges to 90 degrees and mounts on your tripod head while holding the phone up. Absolutely briliiant. I'll need to get more of these!

I'm a pastor, and with the coronavirus necessitating our church suspend in-person worship services we've needed to do much more video work than before. Our church has a Canon SLR camera, but I found that my Huawei P30 Pro phone captures video that's comparable in quality but much easier to use in many ways - lighter, smaller, more portable, easier to operate solo, much easier to save video files to the cloud, etc. With my sudden increase in personal video recording, I picked up a few items to help make that process easier. This plate is one of the best and most useful items I've gotten. First off, the quality is great. It's precision machined, durable, light, and just really well made. The tension of the phone brackets is also spot on - not tighter than it needs to be so that it's difficult to open (like some others I've found), but just enough resistance to hold my phone securely It's also really versatile for phone use, with screw mounts on the top, bottom, and back of the plate. What I appreciate most about it is that I can mount my phone to a tripod and then mount another accessory (light or mic for example) on the top. All around great item that's really well made, thoughtfully designed, and super useful.

It works. Well made, light weight. Easy to use. I like the color as things disappear in my gig bag. A bit overkill for a cell phone, but it does work nicely for this purpose. I found it a bit too light weight for full video or DSLR though.

I am using this with my K & F carbon fiber tripod. I can also use it on my bloom arms that I normally use for WebCams or microphones for streaming. you can put your phone in it if you were doing recordings on your iPhone, And that’s pretty handy

This is a really clever product, even though it is a bit of a niche. It's an Arca-Swiss compatible plate and anodized Aluminum - so it's durable and heavy duty. But you have to check your tripod head. If it's too wide this plate won't fit. If the area where the plate locks in is longer than 1 7/8" this plat won't fit. There are two 1/4-20 mounts and a locking screw on the bottom that can prevent the plate from seating. I have four Arca-Swiss style heads - it fit on three of them. The one it did not fit on is an off-brand model.When flat, everything is locked together. Pulling it apart makes one think of Optimus Prime as it transforms to a cell phone holder.But do you need it? This is a really niche product - if you use a camera and a cell phone, and don't want to haul around a camera mount for your tripod. If you need something like that - or just want a really nice quality phone holder that folds totally flat, then go for it.
