This microphone kit just way surpassed my hopes. I'm not an audio pro, or anywhere near. But I've got a few microphones. One is especially good. When I compared the sound quality of this K&F to my best mic, omg, this K&F is so much better. I'm stunned.Windows has Volume and Boost settings that allow this K&F microphone's gain to be increased 30dB. The reason that matters to me is, I have a least-favorite USB mic which produces only feeble volume. Windows offers no gain control for it. But this K&F can be cranked way up. I mean WAY up. Way louder than needed, without any static or hiss.----------------------------------I've also got a K&F brand tripod for my binoculars which I'm very pleased with.I'll be on the lookout for other great products from K&F.----------------------------------I do have a few gripes about this microphone kit. The mic itself has no on/off switch. I'm using it plugged into a PC. I want to be sure it's really turned off when not in use. Without having to unplug it. Also, the tripod doesn't have a pivoting platform to swivel and tilt the mic. If it did, I could use it as a general purpose desktop phone tripod. Shucks. Also, it would have been nice if K&F would have included a foam wind-noise shield, in addition to the raccoon tail. And finally, the great quality cords that K&F supplied are too short for use with a PC.

From the crisp sounds that come from the microphone to the sturdy and adjustable stand that I actually used with my other tripods that don’t normally have cell phone attachments, this purchase was well beyond worth it.

This microphone comes with two cables, which is good because I found that different situations required a different cable. I first tried this with my desktop PC, and I discovered that the coiled cable, which says, “camera” worked, but the other one, which says, “phone” did not. My pc has both a mic port and a headphones port. A lot of devices nowadays have a single port for both. My phone, for example, has a single 3.5mm jack. In this case, the, “phone” cable worked. However, I have an adapter that takes a mic input and a headphones input and combines them into a single male end to plug into a jack such as this. In that case, I needed to use the, “camera” cable. If you’ve ever looked at the male ends of the cables for headphones and mics, you might have noticed that there are black bands. Some have 2 bands, others 3. This makes a difference. It’s a little bit tricky to know what you need because things aren’t always clear. Look up stuff like TRS and TRRS, and you can learn about that stuff.Anyway, the mic works, and I was able to get it to work on different devices. The audio clarity seems decent, though I’m not an audiophile. When I played back what I recorded, though, things didn’t sound tinny or anything. What I did notice, though, is that I needed to be fairly close to the mic in order to get a loud enough recording. This isn’t supposed to be a mic that gets attached to your shirt. Granted, if you are vlogging or doing a webex or something, you can probably have this mic within a foot of your face, but if you attach this to a camera to capture the audio from subjects more than a few feet away, I’m not sure how well it will work for you. My tests were limited, but the recording I made from a $7 mic several feet away was louder than the recording I made from this mic a foot away. So your use case would probably be something to consider when deciding whether or not this mic will work for you.

This is actually a great product. The sound quality is good, I think it is much better in wind! I did test it versus the built in mic in the Canon 80D, it sounded noticeably better. It’s also a very useful tool that can hold your phone. It has a handle/tripod that can be removed and used with your own camera as well. It’s kind of an all in one tool! I’m very pleased with it.

Mics are awfully difficult to say yea or nay since what one hears varies by content, recording device and playback device. All I could do is compare it to what I have in that price range which is a Polsen CS-88A and a PowerDewise lavalier. I think I prefer the Polsen with its low cut roll off, but the differences are minor enough that with the proper post processing I think one could make them all sound pretty much the same. The Polsen uses a foam wind screen and offers a 10 db boost, so it is the loudest of the bunch, but also the largest and needs a battery. The PowerDewise offers no camera mount and has no directionality. The K&F has a nice little hot shoe mount, and the included desktop tripod is adequate for casual speech voice recording.I ran the K&F into my old Zoom H1 and I think it makes a nice mono, somewhat directional mic for use that way. When in this price range, unless you have the mics side by side, I think you just have to go with features and accessories, and plan to do the best you can with the audio you get from them. If you like the compact size, the deadcat and could use a little plastic tripod, then this kit will probably do nicely for you.

Great microphone that works very well for both my iPad and camera. Didn’t work with my iPhone though since the connection cable doesn’t fit recent iPhones, if a converter connection cable can be included that would be great. Took me a bit effort to put the microphone in the tight holder. Other than that it’s a great product, very clear and reliable sound producing. Will use it for my videos.

I use it for filming outdoor videos and it does perfect job remove all the wind noise. It's also quite easy to attach to different devices as it comes with tripod and mount. I think I'll keep using it for a long time!

Bought this and it worked great....in quiet environment. So I thought it would work. I went to an outdoor event to vlog, used this mic outdoors for live YouTube videos and for future video. All my outdoor audio in wind and outdoor sounds made my audio choppy!

I dislike wearing headphones. And these days with hours of meetings I was looking for an external mic which didn't sound like I was talking from a cave. I tried a couple of other mics and they didn't fit the bill. This one is extremely good. This microphone is clearly geared to be used on phones and with cameras as seen from the photo on the box. It comes very nicely packaged. Contains the microphone with the wind cover, a mini tripod, a stand to hold a phone and a red grip to attach the mic to the tripod. It comes with two cables with 3.5mm plugs. One to connect to a phone and the other to a camera.I had a tough time attaching the red grip to the mount. I was afraid I was going to break something trying to snap it into the mic. But I managed to snap it into place without breaking anything. I first tested it with the phone since that was easier. Didn't work. I then realized that I was using the camera cable. Switched to the other cable. Still didn't work. Then I looked at the tags on the cable. One end is labeled microphone and the other end has a phone label. Plugged the microphone end into the mic and it started working. This needs to be documented. Down the road if/when the labels come off, it would be difficult to determine which end goes where. Some color tagging would help. The right angle end goes into the mic. The camera cable has right angles on both ends. And as expected, either end works irrespective of the tag. Also, the microphone end has one ring. The phone end has two rings. But the phone was not the reason why I bought this. I wanted to test it on my laptop (HP Elitebook 840 G5). It has a composite headphone/mic. I connected the phone cable to the jack taking care of the right end. It didn't work. I switched to the camera cable. No luck. I had previously purchased a splitter (not allowed to specify url apparently). At the time, it hadn't worked. Tried it with the splitter. Still didn't work. I downloaded HP Support Assistant and updated the Conexant HD Audio driver. Rebooted and bingo. So the mic with the splitter worked with the updated drivers.Spent the day on various calls on WebEx and Teams. The sound quality was very good on the other side. I placed the mic about 3 ft away (closer to the laptop because of the cable length) and there was no problem with the audio. Brought it about a ft away (had to use an extention cable) and the sound was slightly better but not required. With the Plantronics headset I was using, I was unable to turn on the floor fan without people complaining about the wind noise. I turned on the fan and unless I had mentioned it, people on the other end said they would not have noticed it. Only when I turned it on to max, was there wind sound. But even then I was told it wasn't bad.Exactly what I was looking for. Finally comfortable meetings. Just for that 5 stars. But if Amazon would have allowed half stars, I would have deducted half a star for documentation and not including a splitter. Also, a longer cable for PCs would be good. But I had the splitter and extension cable already. I tested the mic with my desktop with a dedicated microphone jack and it worked perfectly.
